The history of Lunigiana is strictly connected to the
Malaspina family who had once created the history of Fosdinovo.
The Malaspinas of Lo Spino Fiorito had their own castels
on the left riverbank of the Magra whereas the family
who belonged to Lo Spino Secco had taken up their abode
on the right river side. In Tuscany in a narrow strip

located along the road to Fosdinovo, known for the famous
Villa Malaspina which was built in 1724 by Marquis Gabriele
Malaspina in the place where once he had an ancient tower
erected at the time of the Bishop of Luni. The village
of Caniparola where in the past peasants lived and grew
the Malaspina's lands, was restored at the very beginning
of the XX century and in 2000 underwent a restoration
which gave back its ancient magnificience. Once the rooms
of Casa Il Borgo were employed as barn where the young
people used to strip maize cobs and where after hard work
would dance and.....flirt. Casa Il Borgo is few kilometres
far from the beachs of the Tirrenian coast (7 kilometres),
from the castle of Fosdinovo (6 kilometres), from the
Alps Apuane and from the marble quarries (15 kilometres),
from Sarzana (4 kilometres), from Le Cinque Terre (35
kilometres) and from La Spezia (25 kilometres). In the
nearby there are all sorts of suitable services to make
your holiday very comfortable. Some restaurants and pizzeria,
schools, supermakets and various shops.
By bus you will easily be able to get to the close Sarzana
in a couple of minutes.
DESCRIPTION
The flat is in tuscan style with girdens on sight,
pastel painted walls and dark wooden furniture.
The place has been enriched with ceramics and bright
colored paintings.
It is made of a small-sized hallway with a service bathroom
(shower). A large sitting room with a kitchen on sight
from whose windows you will admire a breathtaking view
over the country and the sea as well, the enchanting
town of Castelnuovo, the hill and the garden below with
a pool to be used by the flat-owners.
There are two bedrooms, one single and the other is
double in addition to another bathroom, larger than
the first with a bath tub.
All its furnishing is modern and has been finely decorated.
The main characteristic of this flat is its strategical
position, in fact it becomes from a touristic point
of view extremely interesting even in autumn and winter.
Bordering upon Liguria and Tuscany it represents an
ideal starting point for anyone who wants to visit Tuscan
art cities (Pisa, Florece), the close hills of Lunigiana,
the Cinque Terre, and for those who enjoy doing shopping
in Versilia or just going for a walk in the lively Sarzana.
In Spring and in Summer the opportunity to spend sunny
days by the pool, makes it very interesting to anyone
